Port Lincoln

Driving to Port Lincoln we took the scenic drive.  Taking in Venus Bay, Elliston and Coffin Bay as we drove along the main highway.  We tried looking for and open Oyster vendor in Coffin Bay unfortunately unable to find any.  Oh well maybe I will drive back to get some tomorrow.  Its only a short drive from Port Lincoln.
Venus Bay
We settled into our spot at the park and the kids had a wander around the caravan park to find all the essential play areas.  The kids also spent some time doing their journals which is becoming increasingly more difficult to get work out of them.  They are see an end in site and this is make this task that little bit more unenviable.  I can tell you I am looking forward to them heading back to school next year.  I think they will enjoy being back with friends and having someone else tell them what to do.

The next day in Port we headed to the town centre to do some shopping and visit the Makybe Diva Statue.  We headed out for lunch at the pub then took a drive around the marina.  Here we saw many of the amazing fishing fleet boats sitting in port waiting for the appropriate time to go out for the season.  We also luckily saw the arrival of the boat with a load of gummy shark.  3 tonne of it in fact.  The kids watched as it was taken out of haul and then sent up a conveyer belt to a waiting storage bucket.

The weather again was causing doubts and I wanted to swim with the tuna but unfortunately they were not running these tours at present due to the conditions on the water.  As we were unable to do this we decide to move on so we will be heading to Whyalla next.  An industry town.
