Jurien Bay

At Jurien Bay we encountered some very yucky weather.  It was blowing a gale and the rain visited so we were stuck in the van so we decided to do a day of catching up on some major work.  We did diaries, finished off the picture diary and worked on the kids blog's, uploaded photos, backed up files.  My we do need to have these kinds of days.

We did go for rides on our bikes several times which was really cool.  We rode to the marina one day and then the following day we road the other way.  Mind you I nearly gave myself a heart attack.  A snake was sunning itself on the track and I startled it and myself.  I took the front end then I tried to stop the boys from riding over it but no luck.  Kaleb around front, Austin around back and the snake rearing its head in attack mode.  Oh shit.  Luckily none of us were bitten.

We played on the park and took walks on the jetty.  It ended up a good location and probably is a gorgeous one if the wind was not around.

We visited Cervanties to visit the thrombolites and stromatolites, not as impressive as Hamlin Pool and the Nambung National Park, the home of the Pinnacles.  They are the most bizarre things found in the middle of a red desert which then meets the white sand of the coastal ranges.  It is a strange feeling walking around the park.  They are just so unique and beautiful.  A very striking image they make.  We did the walk around the Pinnacles then did the drive.  Lots of photos and a little bit of fun.  So many odd shapes made of sandstone.

Heading to Perth next via the Indian Ocean Drive.
